Overview
Experience the beauty of nature at its best in the little but picture-perfect village of Auli, and awaken your inner adventurer with some heart-pounding activities in Rishikesh by the banks of the sacred Ganga. The fantasy town of Auli, located in the Gharwal Himalayas, is beautifully tucked away among apple orchards, oak and deodar trees and is dotted with dazzling slopes. On the other hand, the fabled riverbank village of Rishikesh is a place where you can simultaneously seek excitement and find peace.
From the longest Gondola ride in India, which departs from Joshimath, you can observe the tiniest skiers on the gently sloping slopes of Auli in a serpentine motion. Once there, take a stroll to the magnificent Auli lake for mesmerizing views of the Nanda Devi peak reflecting in the lake’s emerald-green waters, which change hues at daybreak and dusk. Prepare to display some bravery as you reach Rishikesh, the entrance to the country of the gods, and jump into the river Ganga’s very cold water while cliff jumping and rafting through the holy river’s severe rapids. Spend a quiet evening at Triveni Ghat taking in the spiritual ambience after a long day of exerting yourself.
