During the Dayara Bugyal Trek, you will come across lush green prairies or “ Bugyals” spread across the Himalayas, which are a sight to behold. Out of these, the Dayara Bugyal is especially magnificent, standing tall at a height of 12,000 ft. It is like a tabletop, spread over 28 sq. km. The meadow presents a breathtaking vista both in the winter season – with its promise of an endless expanse of glittering snow, making it a famous winter trek – and in the summer season, with the sunlight reflecting different shades of green as far as the eye can see, and yellow, violet and white flowers bursting in places. The Dayara Bugyal Trek maps the distance from Haridwar to the Himalayas.
The base camp for the Dayara Bugyal trek is at Barsu, perched at an altitude of 7,545 ft, this quaint little hamlet overlooks the green slopes of the valley on one side, and the snowy peaks of the Himalayas on the other. It is located at a distance of about 32 km from Uttarkashi. The trek will take you through dense forests of towering Oak and Pine trees, along the Bhagirathi river, across lush green meadows, and through bubbling streams and rivulets. The Dayara Bugyal Trek is a trek of a relatively easy level of difficulty and can be undertaken even by beginners and first-timers!
